Unbiased Views from Fitness Professionals
These dumbbells are simply awesome. Not only practical, but space saving, economical and well built. For a long time I have heard people complain that they simply do not have the room for a full rack of dumbbells, well that's not the case with the Bodymax Selectabell Dumbbells, as they are designed with space in mind. Who'd have thought you could get 12 pairs of dumbells from 5kg to 32.5kg and take up no more space than you would with 1 pair!
They are so easy to use as well. Simply depress the red safety catch and turn the selectorised end to choose the weight you require. Lift out of the cradle and you're good to go. The added feature of the safety catch is excellent and ensures that the dumbbells do not slip out when you are using them. The weight discs are made of metal not plastic so will not split like I have witnessed with other brands. The handles are ergonomically designed so feel very comfortable when lifting.
OK the discs do move every so slightly when using them to do curls, but not to the extent that it affects your workout. And when you look at the cost savings compared to a full rack of dumbbells I think its a compromise I would be willing to make. The dumbbell stand although is an optional extra I would always get as this means the dumbbells sit at a nice height and you can lift them from waist height in order to start your workout. You want to lift from the floor when using a bench then simply place the cradles on the floor.
If you are looking for a home gym with weights equipment then this should be your first purchase.
